SUMMER SCHOOL
This year our Summer School is set to take place from the 25th July – 6th August.
Ages: Juniors 8-13, Seniors 14-18
Summer School is a brilliant opportunity for your child to stretch their imagination and skills, whilst learning and performing in Reading’s only professional producing theatre, working with industry directors and creatives. With availability for children between 8-18 years old, both the senior and junior groups will spend two weeks developing high quality productions, produced by our Reading Rep creative team. They will then have the chance to perform to the public on our main stage.
Junior Summer School
For ages 8-13, this will immerse it’s participants in a world of mischief and adventure in Robinsons’ Treasure Island. Taking a journey through land and sea to discover treasure, they’ll find fortune and courage to create a truly memorable and engaging experience both on stage and off. Encouraging creativity and imagination, this retelling will encourage the storytellers, dreamers and actors to learn and play!
Senior Summer School
For ages 14-18, this will see Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night reimagined by young people into a quick-paced, playful, and curious production. It will use the original story and familiar characters to explore both ancient and modern presentations of gender expression and identity, as well the opportunity to engage with Shakespeare’s classic. Individual young voices will be at the heart of the creative and practical process, encouraging all participants to connect with the material and performance.
